For an actual gunfight you should be more square to the target. In a close in pistol fight you are probably going to get shot and you run a good risk of having a single bullet hit both lungs if you are side onto your opponent.

I Did realize "you were gone" but I certainly never realized why. I just simply figured you were caught up in the fight for the Den or maybe got sidelined with ll that legal nonsense you are being forced to go through. Never did I think you got hurt at all, but I'm starting to realize as I age myself that it sure gets easier to hurt yourself than it ever has before. Fir instance, I wake up with bruises I have no idea of how they got there. I do do hope you get back to normal soon, because the other thing I noticed is I hate being forced to sit around. The first couple of days is great, but it gets really old, really fast!!!

Good to see you’re still with us I’ll be praying for you daily. I am 75 and this last fall I learned a painful lesson.Don’t go deer hunting by yourself.It’s tuff when your brain says you’re 35 but your body betrays you.

What a harrowing ordeal. I am almost your twin both physically and age wise. I even still haul in the groceries exactly like you did. As I get older I've grown aware of how difficult it is to recover from much less trauma than you suffered. (We don't bounce like we used to!) Falls put a lot of us oldsters in the grave every day. It seems like serious injuries take about a year to resolve. I fully believe you are well on the way to full recovery by next spring. One day at a time.

Interesting … you said in 1874 … 12, breechloading, cartridge shotguns. Am I to assume these were pin-fire shotguns? The earliest references to centerfire, cartridge shotguns I have found are the Colt 1878 … and the Greener was still a pin-fire in 1864 with improvements in 1869, and no “modern” references until 1876? The reason I ask is that there is a definite gap in establishing the double barrel SxS center fire shotgun in an historic timeline (and SASS knows this as they always beg out to the 1880s). TBH, my personal, a Civil War vet going west after the war would have to be armed with: - a Henry, Spenser, or Improved Henry - 2 C&B revolvers - a percussion shotgun Not being cute, I really WANT to know. Regular resistance training (weights, resistance bands, pushes against a wall, then a counter, squeezing a hand gripper, wrist curls, simple flexing muscles in place, etc.) along with/ mobility/movement are key to longevity and quality of life. You are never too old to engage in this type of lifestyle training. Obviously, losing weight will help everything. Watching your videos over the years shows your mental discipline and intelligence. Godspeed, brother!

When I was younger I was able to see this .45 Savage pistol fire and I was able to handle it and look at it close up. I always thought that it needed the rotating barrel mechanism redesigned to allow for more rotation allowing for the mechanism to remain locked up for a longer period of time.
